Probity and Piety

Probity and Piety

A Poem by Dante Hieroden
"

Devout, the good and strength of character. What do opposition see when the truth is irrefutable.

"

I’m as rough as a diamond.

Your as coarse as a cheese grater.

Let’s just agree we don’t get each other.

Pray like, an asp deep in the sand.

Your shimmer to my blood, what’s better than your name.

I just roll my eyes because we’re all the same.

To each and all, we are human. Skin and all.

You dance in circles around me, taunting.

Waving your hands and weaving fabricated lies, its daunting.

I’m standing in the middle, my eyes looking up.

Around we go, spinning and spinning cups.

Like the white elephant, we researched truth.

But you found illusions and believed.

I know the truth and it falls on dead silenced.

Its the last thing I can do. I pray to the moon.

Wiping my tears, with this velvet scarf.

What once was, can be again, devour.

Open your ears, listen with ears untainted.

You judge me with pointed fingers, sainted.

My crime the ultimate deciding factor.

For this I am condemned, importer.

What you call a crime, I called painful.

With one I left. With one I met.

One opened old wounds. One helped me.

In the light I saw my mistakes but my heart did not lie.

Deny resolutely if it makes you feel better, go ahead sigh.

Pretend I’m the blade that cut the two asunder.

With haunting looks you ignore the real issue, apart.

The defiance affably and will show soon. Please grab a tissue.

Stuck as a quarter glued to the cement.

I’m done preaching. You can’t see me lament.

So here I am, waiting for the brilliant.
