Whirlwind

Whirlwind

A Poem by Val Val
"

I had this posted on another site and I thought I had it here but I don't. I like it. Kind of a typing out of thoughts as they passed through my mind. From last summer.

Ringed hands through tangled
Hair, an evaporated sense of
Fate, white walls, you said you
Could fall in love with me, too
Much distance between what
Happens and what should,
Blurry ideas about dark haired
Children with my eyes, mascara
Pillowcases, William Shatner
Singing about common people,
White walls, wave sounds,
You wrote words for me, morning
Mirror memoirs, Freecell, obsess
Over one word answers, twenty-
Four hour marathon playback of
Blue and red and purple memories,
Cigarettes, white walls,
Commercials highlighting stupid
Men and b***h women, rolling hills
Developing into plains, you behind
The wheel in the desert, raindrops
On our heads, little black dress,
Richard Burton/Liz Taylor, Gemini,
Combinations of this one and that
One until no one knows who's is
What, Super Silver Haze, white
Walls, heels on wet pavement,
Trees blurred through car window,
You gave me hope, pride stings,
Guilt, guilt, guilt, charcoal eyes,
Saved movies, songs I will never
Listen to again, white walls, white
Walls, white walls.

"white walls" felt like the stroblight in a movie scene of flashbacks.
