Stay Alive

Stay Alive

A Poem by Kasaundra

Phone in my hand, music blasting, my voice screaming.

Speeding, crashing, rolling,

Flying falling, dying

...dead

Sirens swam, tow on the ground.

Critical conditions we both are found.

The lie driver beside the car,

Passenger many feet from.

Blood is pooling around each of our bodies.

My shirt is cut off me,

Then two defibrillator pads are stuck to my chest

...there's a pulse.
