The hard way

The hard way

A Poem by Victoria
"

this is to someone who set themselves up. They knew what they were doing was going to make it harder to let me go, but they did it anyway and will suffer the consequences.

"

I retched the words you wanted to hear

from my mouth.

Spit them at you with a kindness to kill.

And I knew

you knew

I didn't mean it.

Didn't mean a single word.

In fact,

the opposite.

You've whirled me round your pinky for too long.

I've sifted through your shelter and found me.

Hidden deep

beneath years of misconstrued morals and truths.

You set yourself up for the hard way:

and you got it.
