Dominus' Ira

Dominus' Ira

A Poem by Julius Whitfield

Determination leaks and bleeds through old wounds

Superseding any sketch of audacity

With a desolate silhouette of paranoia and fear

The surrogate of sanguinity

has been transplanted with desperation and narcissism

The exertion has become greater than the splendor

And the glory fades

Veiled in a dark fissure made up of

A lonely, blistering cold ignorance

And the glory consents it

Welcoming it with a clear mind

And embracing it with wide open arms

Just for once, choke yourself with those arms

Just squeeze until there is nothing, but a memory

Leaving what was once intrepid has fallen

And is now turgid and shallow

The pessimism leads, directed by the hand of an abysmal end

Where nothing is safe

Nothing is discreet

Nothing is sacred

And the sense of god is as dissonant as love

Determination leaks and bleeds through old wounds

Superseding any trace of knowledge

With a weary image of hostility and anger

Only led by the Dominus Ira

Transplanted by desperation and narcissism

The struggle has become greater than the luxury

And the splendor is hazy

Fading into vacuum

Provided with only an intolerance

For those who deny it

And the dehumanization for the lethargic that accept it

With sheltered minds, too weak to move and go own their own

Just for once live and pave the way for yourself

Just for once, stop being obligated to the lacquered emptiness youve molded out of silt

And come on your own

Just for once, choke yourself with those arms

Just squeeze until there is nothing, but a memory

Just for once live and pave the way for yourself

Just for once, stop being obligated to the lacquered emptiness youve molded out of silt
