A Poem by Julius Whitfield
"

First Poem back...

"

The heavy opulent clouds
Overcast the heights of the gloomy heavens
Under a thick mask of rainbearing sky

There were far reaching consequences in the idea
That the imminent, a downpour would
Bring something unburdening for this
Rutted flesh and these knotted eyes

He showers away the conscious oppression
Under the drought of this antiquated
Majestic torrent, reacquainting himself
With a carnal piece of himself he thought
he lost

He welcomes this strength, this knowledge
At the last of the day's light
