Waiting...

Waiting...

A Poem by Amethyst Rose

Clock ticking on sluggishly

Stead and slowing like a dying heart

The world holding still like heavy fog

Ticking resonating louder and louder

Mocking echoes pulsing though the air

Shaking my world past the point of function

I lay my head on my damp pillow

And drown out the noise with recurring nightmares

Only to wake up to the depressing quiet

I wait for you…

You create a sad place in the poem. I like the strong description lading to the lonely ending. Waiting is never a good thing. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
