its so sad he was unable to reply...

she promised me letters,
I promised her replies.
I waited for her letters,
I couldnt reply her.
A letter came finally,
I cant reply the dead.
The letters were beneath,
unable to be read.
Letters with the dead,
yet no replies.

A good piece. Short and sweet. The message is pretty clear (at least I'm sure I get the message). It seems to be about those times when you miss someone who is long gone and have so much to say to them, wish you could at least have one last conversation, but the dead don't reply. Something simply bittersweet.

Your idea is very original & I bet many people wish they could correspond with the dead. Also, it's reminiscent of those times when we used to actually write letters by hand & send them in an envelope, instead of everything being cold & impersonal digital one-liners these days. Not sure if you meant for the tone of this to be a little sterile & empty-sounding (which is fine) . . . but I was thinking your message lacked a sense of FEELING . . . just descriptions of actions, the reader must guess at the feelings, which aren't really alluded to here. Even if not inclined to make this a drama-fest, at least a few tears could hint at the way it might be feeling.
