A short poem on friendship and love

BECAUSE YOU’RE YOU

It came to me

The other day

When you looked at me, 

The signs of Love  

Should be as clear 

As the glittering night sky

From a deserted mountain

And as the mist cleared from my head 

I knew

Merely being you

Is enough

It always amuses me that when people get into a relationship or become friends, what that person is or was is what attracted us in the first place, and yet we try to change people to suit ourselves...and they become someone else and then we don't understand.
