Truthfully

Truthfully

A Poem by violet michelle

It's been a battle.
And it's not over, no, it's never over.
But things have changed.
Somewhere along those deserted train tracks,
parts of me became yours, yours to keep forever.
And now I can truthfully say,
your eyes are no longer my life.
Your voice has faded and I no longer want to hear it.
Your smile is no longer my home, but just a menacing tease reminding how much you didn't know about me.
and I am no longer yours.
I am his.
And you are too late.
