How It Feels

How It Feels

A Poem by Lauren N. Rodriguez
"

Everyday thinking when thoughtlessness consumes you.

"
When boredom draws you in, there is no escape
The blindness consumes you
And you are lost in oblivion

Your mind stops moving, the cogs are stuck in place
It's evil wrath curls around you like Minos' tail, constructs you with nothing to do
And all sound is drone out by silence, a word when said, no longer exists

This spinning just spirals downward, winding endlessly to a colorless place and a wordless world
A quiet universe with no existence of sound

Up and down the stairs, they finally go vapid
Thoughts drift to and fro and never get anywhere
With no purpose in life at this precise moment, you stumble down and fall through the clouds
You reach out to hold onto them and your hand goes through, these wispy whispers are quite deceptive

And light shuts off even though there is no switch
Day is night in this new scene arriving
Lightning strikes and sparks a thought
All this is made up, just a battle against reality

I know I'm not dreaming, but is it de ja vu?
No, no, that can't be right
What I'm about to lose is probably my mind.
