Dear Future Self

Dear Future Self

A Poem by Ryan Greenham
"

Have you wished you could tell your older self about the things to come in life?

"
Dear Future Self,
When a woman asks you to lie,
tell her to stop lying to herself
If the truth leaves a bitter taste,
it's probably best to swallow quickly

Dear Future Self,
Be weary of the bottle
True friends do not come fermented
The haze of loneliness only grows,
and you don't need the storm that follows

Dear Future Self,
Your heart will be broken,
but it will be repaired in time
Dear Future Self,
When the first bald patches start to grow,
buy a razor and keep it close to you
It will be a difficult transition,
but so is any worthwhile change

Dear Future Self,
You are unique, and you will learn from it
Flowers can blossom even on cloudy days
Some days you won't see it yourself,
but it will still be there later

Until next time
