smiles 
it is not in approval..

his nod 
does not mean 
YES..

his fingers point 
in the opposite direction
when you ask him the way out..

his hat is not meant 
for DIGNITY 
nor does he wave it 
for a GOOD MORNING

the joker 
wants his due in the pack of cards..

he is not always
joking,
as you seem to think

the joker is always beyond us
because we have decided 
to be
SERIOUS

that is why i say 
behind the frozen smile 
and the hand holding rose

is a darkness
you will never understand

and that is why i say
