Relaxation

Relaxation

A Poem by Jemima Laing

Warm sun shining, friends surrounding
Our solitary tree, alone in the sea
Of anarchy, our place of serenity
Inside jokes, an occasional hoax
Laughter echoes across the lawn

After a long day, we hit the hay
We all colapse, a momentary relapse
To a vegitative state, a clean slate
The silence goes on, then someone yawns
slowly we grin, and with no chagrin
We tackle our victim, as is our custom
Laughter, giggling and chaos ensue

Our energy spent, an impending descent
Into sweet oblivion, lost to reason

We all sleep secure, if a little premature

Knowing we are protected, guarded

I can't think of a last line. So this poem is unfinished. Sorry about that.
