Ledger Error

My April 2nd poem for NaPoWriMo 2012

Some magnolias are blooming
While the rest just seem to wither.

Melodic melodies from birds
Waft on an eerily dead air.

The rain that’s meant only to nurture
Does nothing more than kill the worms.

Spring is in full swing
Yet only Autumn’s in the air.

Gentle green that wants to sing
Is beaten down by the roar of brown.

Is this an error in the ledger
Of our world and universe?

Why must the roses who should stand out
Thrive only in the midst of leaves?
