Sunshine

Sunshine

A Poem by volleywriter15
"

Looking back on my first relationship and realizing its not all what it seemed

"

There’s this boy that I call Sunshine

Because he brightens my day

Sunshine makes me happy

Makes me feel warm when his fingers

Gently graze every edge of me

Holding Sunshine’s hand

Makes my smile beam brighter

Hugging Sunshine

Is like wrapping yourself in a blanket

Fresh out of the dryer, on a bleak winter day

Kissing Sunshine is electrifying

Like grabbing a doorknob

After shuffling down the hall in socks

Sure, it can hurt sometimes

But just enough to make you want more

After all, what is love

Without a little spark?

Sunshine is addictive

He makes you feel like you need him

Like you are nothing without him

Sunshine is not always kind

His harsh ways and harsh rays

Strike my skin and let it burn

Sunshine knows the world revolves around him

Sunshine is bad at saying sorry

He would rather storm off

And leave me in a cloud of gray.

Sunshine does not always stay

Sunshine does not ever stay

Night will always come

And he will always leave

To give his love

To someone who isn’t me
