Treatment on a book idea (political commentary)

Reference point - 

Message - an understanding of the end result of the collectivist culture of Asia in a new, urban, dystopian future.

Main Character - - Xiao ba- translated as "little eight" from the mandarin

Premise - China has started a new elite squad of soldiers consisting of child soldiers. This is nothing new, but what is new is the admittance and advancement through the program.

China has unified the Asian states into a hegemony. The states retain their autonomy but are effectively ruled by the Politburo.

Conditions for child soldiers:

1. Natural pacifistic
2. Coming from areas that are easily conditioned
3. Coming from areas with a deep rooted religion or philosophy
4. (optional) Coming from areas with martial art prowess. The Shaolin temples are an example
5. Few family ties. Preferably orphans

This story will follow the beats of operant conditioning as outlined in the Romance movie 50 shades of grey. Individuals will be targeted, lulled into submission, and be forced to question their lives and themselves. Once targets are at a sufficient level of mental weakness, suggestibility and reliance on the program - they will be forced to enter a fighting competition to the death similar to the Hunger Games or Battle Royal books. They enter this competition at age 15-17 American time and enter the program from ages 12 and under American time. The majority of said combatants will be women for the simple reason that there are more women in Asia at this point and The Chinese Politburo believes women can be more easily controlled and programmed.

The twist that will make this book treatment distinct from the competition is each group of combatants will have a shared mind through some new American technology. They will be initially equipped with poison syringes with disposable needles. The poison kills the combatant in two minutes without fail. Given this shared consciousness state, the children are in effect killing themselves when they kill their compatriots.
