The Last Time I Saw You

The Last Time I Saw You

A Poem by Vanessa
"

In NYC, no one has time to do anything but rush to and from no place in particular. . . and that includes relationships. . .

"

The last time I saw you

I kissed you on the cheek

before the subway doors

closed.

And now we're like strangers

who've never met,

catching different trains from different

stations.

You're Grand Central.

I'm the girl

at the four-faced clock

wondering,

imagining

what it'd be like to have

the cavernous place to

herself.

there's nothing more agonizing then having to go separate ways--especially after spending a nice day with each other. This poem reflects that emotion--separation. No one likes to be apart from the ones we love and desire the most. Another place that is cavernous when this happens is my heart...

Well I don't recognize the places .. but sketched them in my imagination ..lol ! however without discussing the details of your imagination, you left it as a question for the readers "what it'd be like to have the cavernous place to herself. "... nicely done!

PS-in the sequel you can give the description ;-)

I love the imagery a lot. Grand Central is such a massive place and I love how you've equated it to a person. Very interesting metaphor. Great work.
