"Mmmm..."
I woke up with a contented sigh, lazily running a hand across my eyes before opening them.
Uh oh. This was definitely NOT my room!
I bolted upright immediately taking in my surroundings. I was in a dark room, navy walls by the looks of it and covered with posters. Many were of bands I'd never heard of and skaters I could never put a name to.
It was Andi's room, it had him written all over it. I sighed, flopping back down to his mattress, recalling the events of yesterday I'd wish to have forgotten.
Jenni.. I wanted, needed to know what was going on with her..
Lost in my thoughts, I hadn't heard the bedroom door open a didn't realize Andi was there until he plopped himself down on my chest.
"Morning Princess, sleep well?" he chirped cheerfully, grinning down at me.
"Until you got here," I groaned, "Get offa me! Jeez, you weigh a ton.." I mumbled under his weight.
Andi jumped up, "Are you calling me...FAT?!" he gasped, mock tears in his eyes.
"Of course," I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes as I sat up and swung my legs to the side to stand beside the bed.
"Oh, by the way?" I asked sitting back down after locating my shoes to put them on, "Does your mom know I'm still here?"
Andi shrugged becoming indifferent, "I doubt she cares anyway..."
I gave a worried stare to his downcast head as he fiddled with his shirt before sighing softly as I remember the scene I had witnessed last night.
We pulled up to Andi's house in his truck laughing as we arrived. I had to admit Andi was doing a pretty fine job of distracting me. He had taken me out for ice cream and although it took nearly an hour he had managed to take my mind off Jenni and get me to simply have fun. Eventually, however as it always does, it had gotten late and I had to be reminded of the days events. One thing was certain, I did not want to go home. Andi could sense that and well.. after a quick phone call to my dad that was how we ended up here. Here on Andi's driveway laughing at the lame joke he had made.
I slapped his arm lightly across the seat still laughing, "You retard.."
He hopped out and came around to my side opening the door.
"Milady?" he asked offering his hand with a dramatic bow.
I giggled girlishly, placing my palm in his and curtsying when I was safely on the ground.
"Good sir."
Andi brushed a lock of hair from my eyes, "You're so beautiful, you know that right?"
Before I could respond his lips were upon my own. Just as quickly as they had come they were gone again and Andi was swiftly backing away, his head downcast.
"Oh God, sorry sorry, God I'm so sorry. I know you said you wanted to wait and take it slow. I-"
I shushed him with finger, "No.. It's okay."
He lifted his gaze to mine as he searched for something in my own pale blue orbs.
I slowly brought my arms up to lock around his neck as he continued to stare down at me in confusion.
"Really," I whispered, "It's alright.." before rising on my toes hesitantly placing my lips on his.
He remained unresponsive until just as I was about to pull away. Unconsciously I had opened my mouth and his tongue was eager to slip in. We both battled for dominance until I finally gave in to the sweet taste of him. The kiss became more passionate as I could feel his hands slip to rest beneath me and lift me to rest on the hood of the car. I settled for running my fingers through his gorgeous locks. I desperately needed air and I sensed Andi must have too for he pulled away only to reattach himself to my neck. My eyes slipped closed as an involuntary moan escaped my lips as he hit my sweet spot just below my jaw. Andi groaned tearing himself away breathless as I slowly opened my eyes.
He caught his breath, "Too fast?"
I was surprised to find our eyes meet evenly, probably due to the fat I was still perched on his car but I responded nonetheless.
"Well honey.. That depends," I stated coyly.
He looked confused before brightening.
"Does this mean? Will you be my girlfriend?"
"I already am your 'girl' friend." I laughed intentionally being difficult.
"Ugh," Andi caught my wrists, "Alex. Don't tease."
I looked straight into his eyes, "Yes, Andi. I will be your girlfriend."
And that is how I, Alexandria Corrin Bovea, became the girlfriend of the gorgeous Andi Travis Rent.
But more had happened that night. I had also briefly met Andi's mother and this was why I worried so much now. They were so.. distant. Andi's mom seemed like a nice woman and I think at a time they must have been very close. She had the lines of a woman who's spent her life laughing although laughter seemed the furthest thing from her mind when she saw Andi and I. I think the memories of Andi's father she got when she saw him were too much. Regardless I could see she cared a lot about Andi and held a lot of love him even thought the pain was evident in her tired eyes. I know she definitely didn't like the idea of me sleeping over. But I could also see she was too afraid to upset Andi to say anything about it. So she stayed quiet and silently watchful.
In short, as soon as Andi and I had walked in from his truck his demeanor completely changed. It was basically a "Alex is staying over." No "Hey, how was your day?" or even a simple "Night."
I was his girlfriend now and I had a right to be concerned. It was natural to want to help. So that's what I did.
I gently pulled my second converse on before rising as his gaze slowly lifted to observe. I walked over, his eyes searching my every movement with anxiety and a slight fear. I took his hands from his shirt putting them around my waist before wrapping my own around his and placing my uplifted chin on his chest. We looked wordlessly into each others eyes for moments before he leaned down to kiss me. I shook my head, burying my face in his shirt and taking a deep breath of his scent before pulling away.
"I want to talk."
I saw the same glint of fear flicker and rolled my eyes, running my fingers soothingly along his back.
"Not that kind of talk," I said taking his hand and leading him to the bed. We both laid down on our sides facing the center. Absentmindedly he ran his fingers in a pattern up and down my hip.
"Andi..it's just..your mom."
The fingers stopped.
"Last night--"
"No." Andi abruptly sat up turning his back to me.
"Andi--"
"NO." He repeated turning on me tight lipped, the venom unmistakable in his tone.
"You don't know anything about it."
"Andi.."
I reached for his hand with him quickly snatching it out of my reach.
"Babe, I just want to help."
Andi backed up to his doorway, "I am NOT doing this with you and I sure as hell ain't playing any doctor Phil crap. It's none of your business."
"Oh really?" I stood up angrily, "None of my business? Well, I guess I have no 'business' being your f*****g girlfriend either then!" I screamed outraged before bolting out of his room, his house, his life but not before missing the look of shock fixated on his face.
