Chilly

Chilly

A Poem by Riley

It's chilly,
and I'm brought back to the thoughts...
any shelter is lost

No matter how many blankets,
or layers of clothes

It's chilly.

Cool, hard air penetrating me

How many people?
How many times?
How many thoughts?
How many crimes?

Why not?
Why didn't you?
Why couldn't you?

Innocence permanently stretched
Violation, manipulation,
things now tetched

Just a friend,
a real smile,
and endless conversation

All I've got was manipulation.

It's chilly,

And you're my home.
