The Unnamed Speak

The Unnamed Speak

A Poem by Brandon S. Whitten
"

As Waya unravels his mystery, he crosses paths with the Naacals.

"
Naacals our Mother named us
Usually we do not speak
We understand you woke up without memory

Yes, I said, staring at my reflection in the water
All I remember is walking away from a pyre
Then stepped out of a sea of flames

You have been reborn, one Naacal said
We have been expecting you
Then he asked to see the markings on my body

He turns to the others and proclaims
The Prophecy has come true, you must hide
Martians have invaded and our way of life is slowly dying
