The Chase

The Chase

A Poem by Anne Lyons

It's the chase
that we crave
the most.
When love knocks
at our front door,
we shut the curtains
and act as if we
are not home.
Without rejection,
I think we'd be
stuck in a deeper hole.
And If there wasn't
such thing as affection,
I think we'd all be able
to sleep a little more
soundly at night.
