Discovering you

Discovering you

A Poem by Anne Lyons

The first time I met you

I was taken over

by a surge of curiosity.

I could never put my finger

on the initial cause of this.

Perhaps, it was the way

you analyzed life or maybe

it was the softness I saw in

your eyes, when in reality

you appeared to present a

much tougher persona.

My curiosity got the best

of me as I tried to uncover

the mystery that defined you.

And to my discovery, you

were quite different than

I had imagined.

You fix your eyes on

what captures your attention,

while generating vivid images

by the simple click of a lens.

You take pleasure

in the simple fall of a raindrop,

as it glides slowly down

the budding of a petal's tip;

focusing on intricate details

that make the world beautiful.

You admire life for what it truly is.

I realized in that moment

I was clearly enticed by you.

Liked the choice of words. Profoundly pen`d. The depth of love behind the words`s as mysterious as the value of hearts. Nice imagery!
