Follow the Sunrise

Follow the Sunrise

A Story by ImaginaryMight
"

I thought of the line "Your hope is a rotten corpse." and I wrote a story around it.

"
"Your hope is a rotten corpse, best you stop clinging to it."
"That wagon had all of our provisions for the entire winter!"
"Winter came early, the trails are covered in two feet of snow, no wagon could possibly make it under these conditions."
"We have to find them."
"That wagon could be a hundred miles out."
"What do you suggest we do then? Sit here and starve?"
"Say you make it to the wagon, what then? Are you going to carry all the food and provisions on your horse's back through the snow?"
"We will have to set up camp near the wagon, we will stay there for the winter."
"Think about this, How do you even know where the trails are?"
"The trail is lined with trees."
"And what about when it isnt?"
"You're talking about Elkhorn Prarie."
"Yes and Blissing, both areas where there are no trees to guide us."
"We will worry about that when we get there. If we get to lost we can follow the sunrise"
"Follow the sunrise, what confidence that brings me, might as well follow the wind."
