Apocalyptic Moments

Apocalyptic Moments

A Poem by Robert Francis Callaci
"

the itsy bitsy spider says hello

"

as the walls came tumbling down

an itsy bitsy spider weaved its web

amongst the bug infested ruins of Armageddon

whilst the last rites of the red cockroach

(administered by mealy mouth maggots

whispering sanctimonious platitudes)

sent the faithful into a frenzy of despair

in the clear sparkling waters of heaven

an itsy bitsy spider laid its colorless eggs

amongst the pristine ruins of Avalon

whilst the coronation  of the blue dolphin

(administered by God obsessed virgins

singing songs of jubilee)

signaled to the faithful that rapture was at hand

in the cold dark corridors of hell

the itsy bitsy spider gave a halleluiah shout

as it crawled back into the bloated belly of the beast

it’s the small things in life that go unnoticed…

The spider gives this poem an effective image that no doubt is the perfect initiation, as in metaphor-
the ambiance is woven through and through, knowledgable and reflects wisdom in
furthest depths of the intended expression, I love how the idea leads through different themes
in time and the greek atachment that came into the nature, that is the essence of the
meaning itself, a past, present and future, a mastefully invented vision to ponder.

Very nice creation of the world that was never made before... I mean, you've expressed the way the world end with unusual choice of using the good old children's tale "Itsy Bitsy Spider" as part of metaphor... In more of the adult style version...

Overall, it's still impressive and it's all still great tho...
