Where The Fairies Play

Where The Fairies Play

A Poem by Anthony Richard Andrews

Under the shade of the forest of green.
Little men dance, but are never seen.
For they are fairy folk, and to hide they must.
They are full of such wonder, such magic and lust.

Cracks in the rocks neath the waterfall fair.

Is where they sleep, without a care.
For it is here where they're safest to hide away.
And its here where they sleep, here where they'll stay.

The world is tenaciously altering.
The people who dwell within it are faltering.
They are not the same as the folk of old.
And the fairies stories, are no longer told.

Smoke rises through industrial plants.
No longer can you hear the Nordic chants.
Signs fill the sky, that the end is near.
But the fairy folk, no longer fear.
Deep in the valley, hidden from sight.
Is where they dance neath the pale moonlight.
Perhaps you may here them play once again
Although maybe not, as the times have changed.

Ahh.. this poem was great, and it touched on a subject I love.
It's kinda sad though, how the world is changing and people stop believing in or even admiring the old things, such as magic. It's too secular for me.
Damn science.

Oh well, lovely write.

Great poem. The modern age has certainly altered our world indeed. Lots of imagination and good rhymes.

Should there be a period after ~ hidden from sight?
