breathing

breathing

A Poem by highonwords

everything was quiet,
the world was listening
to its own breathing,
it strained to hear
the far cry of mountains,
from thousands of years,
lovers who were buried
in tragic ecstasies,
were again wakened
in the remains of love,
scattered everywhere

then we kissed to end
all these forgetting,
of how once we felt white
all over, when the sky
breathed inside our heads,
and the train came too late
for more last kisses,
for once i wasn't lost,
on something about to wake
in me, my world stopped,
to let you in again
