Knowledge

Knowledge

A Poem by S. Bishop

As a society, a unitary clan, held oppressed by a corrupted government's hand, bound by chains with no remains of our history, not a myth nor a tale, but a story. Lying in the midst of one's mystery.

We must not egress or regress but progress and I do stress the knowledge that we are seeking, are in the mind of our youth, where we are denied the truth, that behind closed doors are peeking.

When visions of our past, dreams vanishing too fast, asking much too simple questions, "Are we free at last"? Raced at a pace that's too much to handle, but we dwindle in the hopes of our grandmother's future, while enduring torture. In a society that don't give a damn about us.

Slapped with two fists, labeled a nuisance and cursed with the thoughts that things don't get no better than this. For if knowledge is power then what we ain't got is but that power just lying in the mist.
