The Origin

The Origin

A Poem by Doug Ordunio
"

The start of a burning heart

"

When you made love

For the very first time

When your body and mind surrendered

To frothy seas of passion

Lush forests, colorful gardens

High peaks of light

Deep pits of darkness

Moaning, screaming and writhing

You arrived at the apex

A pinnacle never before imagined

--And your eyes burrowed into mine

Looked for the connecting point between us

When you discovered it, tears

Dripped upon your cheek

And you buried your face in my shoulder

Tried to hold that unrepeatable moment

Entomb it in your heart

Where forever it would glow

Keep you confident and safe

On future days of solitude

I remember a moment close to this terrible beautiful blisss~ a connection ~if even for the briefest flash that keeps the fires sparked even should they reduce down to ash~ your images embrace one another~ blending from line to line in an emotional~passionate array~
