Inaction

Inaction

A Poem by willmjspencer

In the freedom of our lives, we find paralyzing choice.

Ultimately, we build something from nothing;

No set plans or agenda, just outside forces seemingly preordained.

Walking upon the heads of all that is us presently, and past, and therefore, to be,

We find ourselves in an eternal struggle: is there me without society?

For without those thousands upon thousands of heady choices to walk, we would naught.

Inaction, then, is the act of staying put, while it pushes the human story forward;

Speaking its own message, I stare at my blank page…
