Anthology of Memories: Shadow

Anthology of Memories: Shadow

A Poem by songstress
"

This is something that questions the worth in keeping yourself isolated from reality. Is it worth throwing friends family, and life itself, so as to remain happy? And, what's the cost?

"

A gray fog swirls around,
touching pale and slender legs.
And though your blood pools
where the miasma touches,
porcelain legs remain in tack…

So, then with long white arms it pulls back raven colored hair…
which dances about you, in a soft balloon.

It wants to remember pain and happiness,
as leaving the mists would mean
that it loses all that it knew…

Subsequently, trapped the little china doll remains…
forgetting to have loved, hated, and endured
was truly fearsome.

Yet, allowing the intangible veil to saturate
flawless white skin was the tragedy…
for though it provided the warmth
and sweet kisses it desired,
it was only a dream turned prison.

Alas, it stands alone.
Puckering rose colored lips
As it awaited the sun's to return…
but, its paler was ghostly.
Hair a black waterfall, embracing
a stony body, as it becomes entrapped
in wine red veins and crimson streams…

Now, the shell it built for itself…
was it worth it?
Was it worth abandoning reality,
so that it may be held
by a sweet dream?

Hauntingly enthralling piece of art. Enchanted by so many of your images here, darkly hue'd yet beautifully pen'd.

Puckering rose colored lips
As it awaited the sun's to return…
but, its paler was ghostly.

Love that, wish I had pen'd it myself....was it worth it, we never do figure that part out, do we?
