The ultimate dance

The ultimate dance

A Poem by Jeannine Winklaar

Words reach the ear like a slow
tango uplifting the spirit  Hands find
their way wrapping words around fingers
Clinging tight as not to ever let go of their
meaning  Penetrating bodies through
soft skin - lingering in the centre - the core

Spreading upwards, stretching spines
drawing heads together, side by side
Spreading downwards, lifting feet
forming lines across the floor

Words dance in hearts, his words,
mine, ours  Forming poetry, making
music, dancing away reality  Until
there is that place, where one can
dream freely, with no urge to awaken...
