Girl Next Door

Girl Next Door

A Poem by winterdream

Girl next door, you will never know me
like I know myself.
A friendly 'hi' and flash a smile
but keep this to ourself.

No one bothers to ask the questions
I long so much to hear
So I rely on you to do the same
and my soul you'll surely spare.

Girl next door, you will never know
how I truly feel
but I pray that you will stick around
and my lips won't break the seal.

I live just for this moment in time
if you could only see
unrequited love and longing for
something that will never be.

Girl next door, shallow as you are
I hope you never know
the pain and sorrow that fills my heart
now tell me does it show?
