Unnamed Bar, Vermont. 10:38 PM

A Poem by Tyler Trelease

Just one more drink
And I’ll forget death.
Walk with me,
I’ll be alright.
I just can’t make it home
Alone on sidewalks
City bench parkways
Endless highway night.
Sweating windows I’d
Rather drop a line
On empty glass tables.
I don’t f*****g care anymore.
There’s holes in my stomach
And I never did anything for me.
Anger cries Mary.
Vomit on the walls,
No eyes in mirror.
I forgot what love is.
Phone calls, mother, restricted,
O’ napkin penned lowlife
Which lie on “I miss you,”
Sunken sunken drunken
“Veatnik scowtish pig-f****n’
Knowitall,”
He dies like Shakespeare
I hope, all hope
Gone O’ Danny Boy she’s gone.

You had me at unnamed bar. I like the many lines in the poem. Drinking, walking and thinking too much can get us in trouble. I like how you ending the amazing poetry.
