Sea of Relief

Sea of Relief

A Poem by Alan B.
"

Thoughts on the sea

"
I project my thoughts
Onto the endless ocean
They go beyond the horizon
And do not return

Again I am a boy of eight
Walking down some eternal shore
Life has not yet begun
And I revel in the beautiful simplicity

Things do not haunt me here
Gentle waves continually roll
Their music all too familiar
Never losing its effect

Sitting here my ceaseless yearnings
Are placated not because they were fulfilled
But because this ancient sea
Has drowned...them...all.
