What shall I do?

What shall I do?

A Poem by Alan B.

Now all passes with baffling rapidity, an astonishing pace
The more one looks in the mirror, the more one is blind to his face

What shall I do in such troubling times?
Yet are not all times troubled?
All futures are indistinct, clouded and vague
Indecision and doubt now more than doubled

We lash ourselves to great boulders to halt the horizon
If the path be paved or quicksand, all feels the same
Fear regains its dominion
Let all know its name

Against the tempest, reason and strength are lost
In chaos the wise man's words are only known later
Destruction is always the cost

Still to hope, still to wonder, still to dream
Forever born again am I a thing.
