A Lovely Sort of Things

A Lovely Sort of Things

A Poem by Steffi

A Lovely Sort of Things

Fingers trace the lines in your skin
So delicate, so intricate
Laughs donated so freely

Memories spattered with expectations of grandeur
Distant stars so stable
Conducting our hands

Ears so cluttered with a murmured tune
a cry in the dark beckoning our psyche to combine

Eyes so misted with a sheath of infatuation
a soothing disturbance from being

Embraced taut, grazing along the rinds
blanketed by flesh

The sweltering summer ferocity
a trifle of the reaction within

You are doing a really good job "making your poetry up to par." I think your lines have this delicate veil over them, a gently and sensual curtain of night. I think that this is a great way to describe love, and the small parts that we can compare to small assorted gifts. Well done.

The sweltering summer ferocity
a trifle of the reaction within

Beautifully expressive, sensual, and soft, you build a sense of expectation... of love... of desire... and so perfectly end with a note of the true depth of the love... so powerful!
