Lost

Lost

A Poem by ws1564

The faintest trace of an emotionless sound

The echo of a feeling rings around

Nervously, he picks up her hand

Pain in her face as clear as writing in sand

The sound of his lonely, hollow heart beat

She turns her head until their eyes meet

He locks her into his desperate stare

She shows him her soul empty and bare

He is lost and she is alone

This is all that they've ever known

But now they're together and finally free

Because I have you and you have me
