Yield To The Flame

Yield To The Flame

A Poem by Sheila Kline

One is often led by the power of our "Tribal DNA". Allow it to invigorate you as you delve into your past and grasp that which has been gifted to you by your ancestors!

Yield To The Flame

Gather and dance ‘round the fire;

entranced by the flame.

Incase yourself in the power

of the sparks that immolate the dark night.

Be its captive and follow;

guided by the haze.

Yield to the inherent message

of the raging pyre that beckons to you.

Healing fires burned long before;

conjuring lessons.

Be led by the incantations

of your primeval shaman ancestors.

Let your tribal DNA

propel you to act.

Summon the emblazoned fierceness

of their sacrifices for victory!

Author's Note

Sheila Kline
Written while listening to the music of Danheim which invigorates and reminds me of my ancestors who yielded to the flames of knowledge that taught them of life and death. The flames hold messages for us if we seek and listen to their teachings.

Thank you for introducing me to Danheim which is darkly exciting!

Your poem invokes some powerful imagery and feelings. During a period of intense letting go and healing about two years ago, I was absolutely drawn to the flame and had fires to cleanse, fires to burn, fires to let go and fires to set my intentions. I felt compelled to do this and have not done so since .... maybe it was my ancestors guiding me with ancient knowledge when I needed it.

Reading your poem while listening to Danheim and wishing I had known about Nordic folk music when I was in my fire phase!

Thank you Sheila!
