Author's Note

Sheila Kline
As I have made a long journey from darkness back into the light and love of Jesus Christ, He has graciously granted me a spirit of compassion and discernment so that I may pray for, and love others as He loves all of mankind! My prayers are for the lost and hurting! He takes me and uses me just as I am!

LORD, USE ME JUST AS I AM!

O’ Sweet Lord, set me free.
Grant me a spirit of identity
To feel pain of each friend--
Pray for sadness to end!

O’ Sweet Lord, let me be
One sharing an abundant love of thee--
To gift an open hand
Of the love you command.

O’ Sweet Lord, help me know
When to remain, as well as when to go.
My presence to others--
A gift for all brothers.

O’ Sweet Lord, heal my pain
As malevolent shadows rest again.
If heart clouds o’er with tears,
Revive joy of past years!

O’ Sweet Lord, I cry now--
Use me to help somehow
Souls distanced now from grace,
Be part of revival’s race.

O’ Sweet Lord, I beg you,
May I seek to understand all I view--
Differences in my heart
Let love never depart!

O’ Sweet Lord, please forgive,
Restore each to fully live.
Bring peace and comfort unto them again,
Forgiving each one’s sin.

Lord, I view streams of life,
And feel torment of my fellow man’s strife.
Water flows as tears fall
For great sorrow of all!

O’ Sweet Lord, heal their woes.
Liberate mankind from bondage of throes.
Please allow me to grow,
As each one’s needs I know!

Lord, use me just as I am!

A beautiful write prayer/poem of compassion from the bottom of your heart! I learned that when we pray for the Lord to give us compassion, patience, and more; He doesn't just hand it to us on a silver platter, but rather He teaches it to us through our lives. Just as patience only grows when it is pushed to its limit and beyond, true compassion...as opposed to sympathy....is learned by experience. No matter how hard we try to understand, or how much we wish we could, if we haven't been in a similar situation, we can not possibly know the depth of another person's pain or heartache. As my mother used to say, "Be careful what you ask for....you just might get it."

Now, with all that said, I know you have learned so much the hard way too and you have a very compassionate heart, my friend. And your prayer is being answered in part through this write as it is touching hearts already.

Blessings & friendship,
Ellen

This is so beautiful! A prayer that's worthy to repeat for any of us. A reminder that no matter how broken and shattered our lives have been in the past Jesus can take it all and use it for his purpose! I definitely see that in you, Sheila!

Thank you Sheila, hurting I am, and tears are flowing. a broken relationship ended tonight because he lied, seven years the relationship lasted, he wouldn't tell me reason behind the lie, it's over, I can't trust him anymore. Thank you for your wonderful prayer, it's needed badly right now. It's so true, we learn through suffering. God Bless you my friend
Hugs.......Annie
