When certain events in life are hurled at us like unwelcome guests, we often feel as if we would rather just continue "spinning through life" to survive!
My world of reality is spinning round, round and round,
As rawness of reality comes crashing with stark resound.
Where is happiness, where is sunshine of a present past,
As I look at now and see only teardrops,
falling
falling
falling--
Clouding trophies of my past?
All I envisioned I "would and could be" hasn't been found.
"Unmet expectations", my life's motto, rests on the ground.
Why have I failed, what have I done to loosen grip so fast,
As I look back and see only teardrops,
falling
falling
falling--
Invading consciousness of present?
Perhaps if I return to a habit of self-abuse’s pitiful sounds,
Pull them out of the grave of healed, send in the clowns,
Shall I enjoy solace as I bind my pity to the ship's mast,
As I look forward and see only teardrops,
falling
falling
falling--
Head first into realms of tomorrow?
And then I think of memories of the past that please me--
Grand gifts of opportunity enabling expectations to be free.
I see sunshine's rays erasing darkest shadows of gloom,
As I leave behind painful memories by
spinning
spinning
spinning--
Quickly like a butterfly leaving its cocoon!
I welcome nectar of discovery soaring with new wings--
Experiencing the rapture of harmony such flight brings,
Stepping out of my comfort zone into tomorrow's room,
As I test the waters of probability,
spinning
spinning
spinning--
Unfamiliar, but full of adventure!
Unlimited possibilities are forming in wings of tomorrow.
I’m ready and willing to accept joys I don't have to borrow.
Anguish no longer welcome, sent away with last monsoon,
As I lift in flight above all by
Spinning
Spinning
Spinning--
Revolutions propelled by hope!

I love this verse here, this is wonderful and brillantly wrorded
I read the first three stanzas in a PM last week, and I am so-o-o glad you turned the corner to a more hopeful note! This is a masterful write, Sheila, and you know I'm not given to vain praise; just read the rest of your commentators! The gerunds "falling" and "spinning" bring to mind the gyrations of a stalled plane, but I know your Pilot, and I know He will re-establish lift in you!
PS: "COCOONS"
Beautiful!!!....both the poem and the pics. I want to soar with you as I read the lines:
" I welcome nectar of discovery soaring with new wings.
Experiencing the rapture of harmony such flight brings.
Stepping out of my comfort zone into tomorrow's room,
As I test the waters of probability..."
