Innocent ewe

Innocent ewe

A Poem by Willem DelFuego
"

I wrote this very suddenly, it has been through several edits though. It's about pure love, loss of purity, and the reality of death.

Innocent Love

I am the biggest fool

Not the greatest
Because of my mistakes

Enough to be visible
From your space - A Fool

A fool who knows a truth
Another won't commit
He speaks to her in dreams

He speaks to her
Whispers, cool air
Coolness you held at night

A fool that owns a gravity
Unique to himself
Now pulls on his night

He pulls on his moon
She slowly drifts
I pull a frozen heart

This fool will speak now
Pull upon your curls
He will kiss you softly

Softly fool, don't push
This fool you love
Runs at the first sound

She blushes, she runs
You can not chase
While you were sleeping

While you slept
She cut you through
Now leaving your soul

I speak my love, my fool
Knowing you have no air
You listen in vacuum

Sounds cannot reach you
Echo, you echo your own
You take a turn

You turned this heart
Your moon shifts it weight
My ocean devours our shore

On the shore
I lay on sand before you
My queen, innocent star

Your light gave life to cold
On this far lifeless shore
Where your name began

Highlands and lowlands
Are only named so
For they are married

One is not one
Without his bride
I rise, I fall

I fell once , you loved
I fell twice
Now your winter has come

My oceans crashed
For a while my home shook
I felt your absence, colder

I regretted this ever
Ever regret my sins
You ran away innocent

Your innocence a knife
Maybe you had as a child
You used it for supper

You forgave not your meal
Devour me love, take mine
I would never ask

My arms have crashed
Catching breathless air
Suffering fool, you ghost

Suffering fool you build
Castles on your moon
You lock your doors

Lock them tight
So your treasures remain
You sleep outside

Afraid you will loose
Although it's a truth
You demand it proclaimed

Loose what you have
So all you will hope gains
But now, nothing is sacred

Together a miracle
We had one winter ago
She shook so slowly

Our bottle together
Warm filled with love
Laughter and praying

Praying at night you sleep
I sleep my sleep in prayer
Awake at the thresher

Our miracle shook
Her body so thin
We lay in waiting

We, waiting in strength for
I hoped for our destined home
Your dreams now small though

We married in summer
Wearing poppers threads
Our pockets were vacuum

Listen to our empty space
Hope to fill our home with bread
We stand behind the glass

All our ladies red in waiting
And brothers, mothers weep
Weeping together at last

Now driving in rain
You comfort my heart
I speak of our miracle soon

Now the home was filled
Though poorly seen
You saw emptiness

Never seeing what will be
Running away, afraid dear
You stood there, no more

Your wealth a violent ache
It takes your at will
Your peace plundered

You care for peace no more
You gasp for air
Always drifter, always snow

We spoke in no time
No memory shared
We spoke, but you died

You swallowed your love
A sword in Mayweather Fair
I watched from the crowd

Naked I stood, your lips
I see you lips move
But not for your dreams

The sword you swallow
Made from you crown
A man who was in town

Handing your glory in coal
Off to a traveling donkey
He melted it down

Now there are words there
Seeing them written
You watching it gladly

This dream was so real
You lost in your dreams
Your dreams swallow you

Fool man, I am foolish
To argue your passing
While all insist you live

You are living
In your mother's womb
And quite happy to be so

So now, my fool
My foolish heart chases
I run after your ghost

Altogether I arrive in places
Towns, cities I did not know
Hear songs of the dying star

You forgot who you are
I will not relent, such a fool
I follow you from afar

My drifting moon
My oceans so violent
So violent and fierce

My shore washes away
Our home, our fortress
You drift away dusted hair

Now once the cities I saw
Sang songs of a hope
And of a hopeful prince

Your face toward my sky
Turning away, and slowly
Lowly I pray dear, godspeed

Our miracle woke
And shook no longer
She was the small echo

She echoes of blindness
Of turning moon
And frozen maiden

I speak for the miraculous
For you have not known
After moon dripped honey

Trust you drifting
I know in time you freeze
And in ice, you will regret

So here now the final ire
The end of our song
You left greatness behind

Choosing darkness you fall
But I love you always
I chase as foolish lover

I say I am a bigger fool
Though not in any way
Small man I am proud

Too proud to see
My foolishness was more
More foolish in Faith

And you have run from life
Your hopeful release now
Will linger on your necklace

You swore my arms held
Yours arms in mine together
On our dying day as one

You swore your neck to hold
A slender strand of hope
Easily broken, throat closing

It will always remain
What we were to see
Yet I saw alone, your dream

Your dream something far
An exile from nature
No, limbs regrow in ether

I see arms and legs
Where ether was only air
No longer as you, oh moon

You on our day, rain for us
Ran down a valley dusted
Through your hair, pearls

Dusted valley in your hair
All these bones, now speak
Vows broken like old men

Your scented skin lovely
Once gentle - love touching
Now love , you hold bones

Sharpened on stones
You always had me carry
On days we were as harlots

Refuse to speak, you hold it
Not letting go, you won't
Your weightless dream

Stand this test fool you are
I say to thumping veins
Lead to nameless motion

I say not your name bird
Not my time keeping flight
No, in that chest only sound

I can not speak, my love
My pure, your name again
Not while chest held hollow

You were that weight
Of treasures we were given
No, they can't replace

How sorrowful to see
A star grow cold, die out
Until only frozen satellite

Only dim light now
Though I love your night
I tremble nude in dimness

At night, in the sky
Glow from your waste
Closest I feel you dear again

Now this fool chokes
On his words agonizing
I love my dear drifter

I watch as slowly are erased
Our letters written in song
Are erased from your skin

I dread this day dear moon
Not for my own home
Sunken under waves guilt

I dread not this stolen gold
Nor my empty cupboard
But you filled my cup ever

If heard what you did
In fear, your empty chair
The shores gone all as well

I dread to tell you star
You left in fear
But will not soon know

I hide from you moon
Tattoo foreign words on me
That your dreams are real

You left them
But I hope for you

I hope you awaken
And see what is lost

Weap a moment
Rejoice forever

All hope is not an orphan
Lost no longer follow , love

Your moon will find a light
A sun will bring you fire

Bring you burning deeper
Your name is in the sun

My star-

I love you still, I will never tell you what you left. It would crush you more than I did. I will never tell you this, but I will only say here that I hope you will find your sun, after drifting frozen in time.

Author's Note

Willem DelFuego
I am still learning to be less sporadic in writing down inspirations. I always hope to express myself, though in person I have learned the value of simplicity. I only hope that if you will take something from it, even just a portion. It is written as an entire dialogue, though I try to keep each piece its own, with unique intrinsic value.
