Lost in a Memory (Not Mine)

<> Music can speak the words that you can't find on your own.

In another's anguish lies an unwritten symphony

of recollection through an aging memory

 missing fathers and dying brothers

once-lovers and addict mothers

to which I can relate

to get lost in and share their fate

In a story not mine

but a tale that's real

words not mine

but emotions with which I deal

 

It's not mine but I can feel

the weight they bore and the price they paid

for fame, unwanted

for expressing their own pain

but it's not mine

not mine
