Raven Unbalanced

Raven Unbalanced

A Poem by Mariah DeHaven
"

After reading a book a few years ago, I was inspired to write a kind of tribute poem. The poem follows a raven who personifies the epic struggle one must face when dealing with good and evil.

"

Beautiful Raven

Black as night

Spread your immortal wings

Prepare them for flight

Sore through the air in the world above

Fly across the sky

 Like a beautiful black dove

And when you grow tired

Land upon Nyx’s eternal perch

For in her darkness

It’s evil that you search

Should it prevail balance will be undone

Because light and darkness are truly as one

Although evil is wicked with blood on its mark

Its appearance is not always ugly, Feral or dark

As beauty and kindness often personifies light

It does not mean that goodness is within its sight

So fly away beautiful creature

Remember what you’ve learned

For in this battle honor is difficult but earned

Wow! I'm in love with this! I'm going print this out and paint it on my wall. The wording flows and is so beautiful. Very very good job!
