Selfish Traveler

Selfish Traveler

A Poem by LostCauze[:P]

One day I will leave everything behind
As I tread the earth, with my feet beneath the dirt
The foot prints I left will give birth to flowers and vines
and the earth that I traverse will eternally freeze in time.

On my Travels, my kindness will singe memories
This road I walk alone, I need not affection to carry me
Isolation from society, a journey for clarity
Though I think myself selfless, I am selfish for I yearn for people to remember me

Without me society will continue and change, infinite and ignorant
and I will stay the same, like a set of fingerprints
The people I meet will follow my feet as I try to find my home
I really am a selfish traveler, So on this earth beneath the dirt is where i die alone.

This poem is great! For some reason I found it very calming. I love the word flow and rhythm. It all just fits perfectly. Great poem! :)
