Untouchable

Untouchable

A Poem by Tori
"

Unrequited love. Not about who you think it's about if you know me, for the record.

"

They say it's the truth

But it's still pretty sad
I always want
What I can't have
And you belong to her
So I can't have you
Oh, but if I could do
What I want to do
I'd track you down
I'd kiss you in the rain
It'd be different
But it'd feel like the same
You'd hold my hand
And hold me tight
And for the first time in forever
I'd feel alright

I wish you noticed, oh, I wish you knew
Just how much I care about you
Yeah, I only wish you'd open your eyes and see
That I think of you all day and night
I can't be happy without you by my side
And maybe you'd be happier with me
But she's still the one who's holding your heart
You think she's pretty and you think she's smart
And she's everything that I could never be
Everything that I could never be

They say I'm pathetic
But I know better
I only want
For us to be together
But you don't feel it
So things won't change
Even though I hate it
When they stay the same
It's not that I hate her
'Cause I'm not a b***h
It's just that you
Have got me bewitched
And I want you bad
Is that such a crime?
That I want you bad
And I want you mine

I wish you noticed, oh, I wish you knew
Just how much I care about you
Yeah, I only wish you'd open your eyes and see
That I think of you all day and night
I can't be happy without you by my side
And maybe you'd be happier with me
But she's still the one who's holding your heart
You think she's pretty and you think she's smart
And she's everything that I could never be
Everything that I could never be

I look at you with such desperation
And reach out for you
But I know you'll never take my hand
I'm not good for you
She's the kind of girl you like
She's a good girl
With her, you're safe, but I
Could shake up your world
But that doesn't change the fact
That she loves you
It doesn't change the fact
You love her too

I wish you noticed, oh, I wish you knew

You may think that she's
Unbeatable, unbeatable
But you also don't see that I
I am breakable, oh, I'm breakable
And it's killing me inside
That you're untouchable
Untouchable

I wish you noticed, oh, I wish you knew
Just how much I care about you
Yeah, I only wish you'd open your eyes and see
(Untouchable)
That I think of you all day and night
I can't be happy without you by my side
And maybe you'd be happier with me
(Untouchable)
But she's still the one who's holding your heart
You think she's pretty and you think she's smart
And she's everything that I could never be
Everything that I could never be
And you're still untouchable...

The rhyme scheme kind of got on my nerves, since it never had an exact scheme but varied throughout the piece or even throughout a stanza.
Also, each line seemed like a broken thought. I feel like the enter key was used a little too often in this as well.
Not all poetry has to rhyme, which I'm sure you already know. Try revising this piece without the rhyme scheme and re-edit the format of your stanzas. It would look much neater that way, and would be a lot more pleasant to read.
