Alone

Alone

A Poem by Adam Awdish

Was it regret or revenge when you shut me out
Alone in the dark, confused about
Myself and who I really am inside
Wishing that I could just hide

I gave my attention and my best
But apparently I couldn’t beat the rest
Because everything I did and everyone I loved
Disappeared and are now lost

Lack of motivation and desire are just a cover
Losing yourself is just another
Way for falling into the void
I knew I shouldn’t have toyed
With myself
