Tension

Tension

A Poem by Adam Awdish

Does distance make the heart grow fonder?
It does,
But not like they say.
Yes, I love you more and more,
Every single day.
The hardest part is the one we looked over,
The most simple mistake.
Sure we can text,
We can call,
We can Skype,
Even write letters if we really must.
But none of that will ever add up
To your warm embrace and touch.
True, I love you plenty more with every passing day,
But this distance is causing tension,
And I fear you might slip away.

Oooh I like this. It really resonated with me. It reminded me of one of my past experiences. This is so relate-able, so very true. Distance can be the deal breaker no matter how much you love someone. This is very well written. I enjoyed reading it. Short but it says a lot. Thanks for sharing. :)

A worried lament over what might be lost from a place of longing and loneliness.
