Just Like Best Friends

Just Like Best Friends

A Poem by oranges_melt
"

:D how lovely.

"

I don't know

if you know me

we used to jam to

boring jazz and

the hobo jig and

we used to trade

baseball cards and

chicken fingers be-

cause you were a boy

and I was a girl

and we were best

friends.

Can you believe

it's been that long?

And now we are

just like two strangers

falling in love

and slowly dying

at the same time.

We used to hang

by the swings and

talk about gross

stuff that our

moms would

never approve.

We used to sit by

eachother's sides and

we used to finger paint

all over eachother.

It used to be a game

but now it's much more

and we just can't stop

'finger painting'

all over eachother.

You used to talk about girls

and ask for my advice and

I used to get so jealous

but I never knew why.

You used to remind me

that I was the only girl

that would be by your side

when you got ditched or

made fun of and I

would always be your

best friend.

Forever.

And maybe more.

another great poem, i especially like the part about the fingerpainting XP

really shows the dynamics of two friends moving effortlessly into something more. gives me the inspiration to write something in the same situation lol!

Tbh I dont think it flows well at some times, but the words are enough to carry it through.

well done!
