Five Minutes to Midnight {part 3}

"

it won't make sense if u don't start from the beginning.

"

I felt a nudge on my shoulder.  I turned around, grudglingly.

"What?" I muttered.

"Can I borrow a pencil?"

"No." I snapped.

"What?  Why?" Mason asked, as if this were shocking news.

"Because you never give them back."

"Okay, dude, I swear...just this once...swear to God, I'll return it." he said, putting his hand on his heart.

"No." I said, blearingly.

"Aw, come on."

"Mason, Genie.  Keep your voices down." Mr. Antonich, the studyhall teacher warned.

"Aw, come on." he whispered.

"Nope."

"You're an a*****e."

"Yeah, you're one to say..." I retorted.

Mason turned to Janice and asked her.

"Sure." she said, handing him a pencil.  He gave her a genuine smile. She blushed.  I felt bad for her.  He knew she had a crush on him, why'd he have to play with her heart the way he did?

"See, Janice is nice unlike you."

She giggled.

"Whatever." I slurred, trying to finish up the math homework due next period.

He leaned in, his breath against my neck.  I felt goosebumps crawl up.  Disgusted, I turned around to see what he was doing up so close to me.

"What the f**k?" I said, biting down on my tongue.

"Watcha' doin'?"

"Math homework." I said, shaking my head.  "What the hell do you want?"

"Can I copy off you?" he asked, suddenly eager.

"No, do it yourself."

"But I don't get it." he whined, like it was my fault he was behind.

"Then you've got yourself a learning progress."

He stared at me like I was speaking Japanese or something.

"I'm not giving it to you."

"I hate you." he told me.

I didn't answer.  What the f**k is the Angle Bisector Theorem?

"Just kidding." he added, like he would hurt my feelings if he didn't.

"You're retarded.  Go away." I told him.

"No."

"Then go to sleep."

"I'm not tired.  Want to hear my dream?"

"No.  I hate you." I said, jotting down some random answer.

"I had a wet dream about you once."

"Uhuh."

"...and it was hott..."

"And you feel the need to tell me this, why?" I said, feeling self-conscouis all of a sudden.

"Because I'm bored.  And I need to amuse myself."

"Well, congrats.  You just passed the stupid test."

"I don't get it."

"I'm sure you don't."

The bell rang.

I didn't finish my homework.

I only have one person to blame.
